Media – Era of the Engineer

/Media

Once you land on one big screen, the others just seems to open themselves up. Infiniti called and told us they were looking for music technologists. Guru just happens to be the best music technologist we know, so it was an easy fit. Fast forward to Summer ‘16 and right on the heels of the epic AT&T commercial, Guru is zooming through the deserted hills of NorCal capturing the sounds of the road in the newest Infiniti campaign. It’s crazy…

What we did:

  • Was part of a 3 part Infiniti campaign starring actor Kit Harington (Jon Snow, Game of Thrones) and sneaker designer Sophia Chang.
  • Created a track and consulted on the music portion of the commercial.
  • Guru got to ride in style.

What’s up now?:

  • Commercial will be released soon. Expect to see it Super Bowl Sunday (we’re calling it early).

#EraoftheEngineer

If you were one of the 42 million people to watch Lebron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers come back from a 3 -1 deficit to beat one of (if not the BEST) teams EVER…Then you may have seen a commercial with a tall, lanky African American, audio engineer. And you may have even thought to yourself – “what is a tall, lanky African American, audio engineer doing on a TV commercial during Game 7?” WELLLLLLL, yeah, that was the point.

What we did:

  • Consulted on the production of the TV spot.
  • Guru read a mean line.

What’s up now?:

  • A lot. Yeah, A LOT!

OneFifty Incubator

Can we be looked at as smart, for once?

Ask Tamir – we bugged him while he was at Tribeca Film Festival and we bugged him when he got over to Time Warner’s OneFifty: a minority incubator in every sense of the word. We’re talking about representation of not only cultural minorities, but also of industries that aren’t represented in the industry – think VR /AR . BUT, don’t get it twisted – we thought there could be more “actual representation” of “US” on the silver screen, laptop screen, etc.  We ended up getting Guru as the first signee of this amazing incubator – and, well, the rest is HISTORY, yo.

What we did:

  • ‍Created pitches for TV, movie, and online content projects.
  • Created our very own movie production company, ERA FILMS.
  • Advised on projects coming out of the incubator at large.

What’s up now?:

  • Honestly, this production deal has us on 100%!! Era Films locked in our first production deal and we currently have two top secret projects in the works (well, if you know Jerald you’ve heard about it, so maybe it’s not so top secret); one with Greg Silverman himself (google alert).
  • Oh, and this partnership allowed us to invest in Script’d (you’ll hear more about this a bit later…)
